Saturday, May 14, 2011

In commemoration of its 220th anniversary, the house of Girard-Perregaux has released its new 1966 Blue Dial Chronograph watch.

Designed in the classical style, the company’s latest brainchild is proposed with a 40mm white gold case, distinguished by clean lines. It boasts a painstakingly finished surface.

The top of the new Girard-Perregaux watch is shielded by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The case is built to be 30-meter water-resistant.

The transparent back part of the model let the user enjoy the complexity of a hand-wound Girard-Perregaux GP030C0 movement. It is composed of 338 individual parts, including 38 jewels. The mechanism operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 36-hour power reserve.

The caliber brings to life a set of functions, immediate and clear on the sunray brushed intense blue dial. It whispers the time through hours, minutes and small seconds.

Moreover, the display of the new Girard-Perregaux 1966 Blue Dial Chronograph watch offers column wheel chronograph functions, presented through a 30-minute counter and a central second hand.

The sub-dials are snailed engraved, which ensure a perfect level of readability. The design of the dial is completed by a tachymeter scale.

Extremely comfortable to wear, the new Girard-Perregaux watch is mounted on a black alligator leather strap, finalized by a white gold ardillon buckle.
